8/4/2005 - CIS Exhibits at IACVB Trade Show

CIS attends the IACVB - Destination Marketing International Association show in San Diego, CA.

IACVB
This was Custom Intercept’s first year attending and exhibiting at the Destination Marketing International Association show and we are looking forward to being back in 2006. Custom Intercept Solutions and its parent company Convention, Sports & Leisure International (CSL) shared a booth at the show this year in San Diego, CA. The show was a wonderful opportunity for CSL to connect with past, present and future clients and for Custom Intercept Solutions to continue to be formally introduced to the Convention and Visitors Bureaus on a local, national and international level.

Custom Intercept Solutions was developed by CSL, a leading advisory and planning firm specializing in providing consulting services to the convention, sports, entertainment and leisure industries. Custom Intercept Solutions has used CSL’s extensive industry knowledge to create a product that fulfills and anticipates the future market research needs of today’s companies – offering versatile research technology with real-time results. Custom Intercept Solutions allows organizations to identify trends early to both address potential issues and to more efficiently react to the needs of their customers.

Custom Intercept Solutions conducted demonstrations to show potential clients how they can analyze, filter and sort data allowing them to make informed decisions concerning their organization. They also had several handheld PDA’s at the booth where show attendees could complete a brief survey regarding the event. The ease of use and mobility of the PDA survey was a hit and many attendees were fascinated with the strategic analysis that could be done utilizing the powerful online reporting tools. Attendees were able to view results for recent surveys being performed by existing CVB clients at visitor centers, conventions and other unique events throughout the country.

CSL has been a long time member of the IACVB and has found its membership to be very valuable. They are looking forward to seeing Custom Intercept Solutions gain the same benefits, support and relationships that they have established through attending the show annually. CSL has attended the show every year, however, this was their first year as exhibitors. They were so pleased with the amount of exposure and feedback from the attendees concerning their services that they already have signed up to exhibit at the Destination Marketing International Association show in 2006.

The IACVB was founded in 1914 to promote sound professional practices in the solicitation and servicing of meetings, conventions and tourism. Today, Destination Marketing Association International, formerly known as IACVB, provides educational resources and networking opportunities to its members, and information on the CVB industry to the public. The convention also marked the official transition of the association’s brand identity from the International Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (IACVB) to Destination Marketing Association International.
A record-breaking crowd of over 1,000 industry professionals attended the annual event (August 3-6; San Diego, California). Themed "Sky’s the Limit," the convention offered a one-stop-shop for educational seminars, product familiarization and networking for delegates from more than 10 countries. The show was also a great opportunity to hear captivating speakers, attend classes and network. Over 100 companies participated as business partners and were an integral part of the meeting, giving attendees the opportunity to meet one-on-one with suppliers offering an extensive array of products and services.

The trade show floor was a great opportunity to sell, network and enjoy fabulous food and drink during the Business Exchange. The Exchange was designed to take place during meal times and between classes. This was a great way to give the attendees a chance to get to everyone’s booth and created a relaxed and conversational atmosphere to perform business. Visiting the exhibit booths, as attendees, while you’re in the Business Exchange enjoying breakfast and lunch, checking your e-mail in the CyberCafe, or heading to one of the relaxing lounge areas on the tradeshow floor is one more important way you can support IACVB.

Custom Intercept Solutions and CSL look forward to seeing everyone again at the Destination Marketing International Association show in 2006. Be sure to stop by and say Hi!
